One of the easiest meals you can make is just about anything in a slow cooker. There are hundreds of stew and soup recipes that are healthy for you. They often are made with inexpensive ingredients and they will serve you for many meals.

Chop up some vegetables, saute some meat, make some homemade sauces and dressings and you will be all set with your meals. The prepping time may seem like a bit of a challenge but during the week you will be thankful it is already done.

Prep Some Smoothies

If you need some healthier drinks, it might help you to do the same thing you do with your food. One the weekend, prepare some smoothies and put them into a freezer bag or other freezer container. You can make a variety of different smoothies by putting different ingredients into the bags. When you want a smoothie in the morning during the week just pull it out the night before and you will have it ready for you right when you get up. All you have to do is toss it into the blender or a shaker bottle.

Load Up on the Vegetables

Another way you can make meals healthier and more nutritious is to load up on the vegetables. You can add vegetables to just about any meal. Whether you are making stew, soup, eggs, sweet potatoes, pastas or a meat dish, you can add vegetables in it to make it better for you. This way you are sneaking in the vegetables and getting the servings you should be getting each day.

Plan Your Snacks

There are probably times when you have gone to a vending machine or stopped at a gas station to grab some snacks. Most of those snacks aren’t good for your body. If you want to stick to a nutritious plan even while snacking, you should plan your snacks. You can pre-package a week’s worth of snacks and keep some with you in your car, some at home and some at your work. That way you always have a healthy snack on hand if you get hungry.
